Precious Learning Moments

I wouldn't want to miss these moments for anything. Today, we had just returned from the grocery store where Mari located and selected several items from the list that began with the letter "P" (potatoes, pears, pineapple) and I was unloading the van. Irene, still in her jacket, barefoot of course as she loves to undress those chubby little toes each and everytime we are in the van, has a firing of synapses that won't stop!

She approaches me with one of her babies in one hand, a piece to the Silly Sentences game that pictures a baby and has the word "baby" printed on it in the other. She hands me her things (to free her hands) and then signs the word baby! I couldn't believe it! She's learning and able to tell us all about her blossoming mind. It is all so exciting. I quickly told her she was right and praised her communication skills!
